Mizuho Nishikubo's latest animated feature film, Giovanni's Island is part of the official selection of the 38th Goteborg International Film Festival (GIFF 2015), to be held in Goteborg, Sweden, from January 15 to February 2, 2015. The screening at Goteborg marks the film's Swedish premiere.

The Goteborg International Film Festival dscribes the film as follows:
"Based on actual events, Giovanni's Island is a beautifully animated story on a serious subject.":

Started in 1978, the Goteborg International Film Festival is the leading film festival in Scandinavia and -with an audience of 200,000 visitors a year- one of the largest festivals in the world.
