Keiichi Hara's award-winning Miss Hokusai is screening within the Animation and Fine Arts programme at the 29th Animafest Zagreb festival, to be held in Zagreb, Croatia from June 3 to 8, 2019.

Animafest describes the film as follows:
"The episodic structure of this stunning film, which contains scenes from Japanese mythology and religion, teaches us all we know about the obsessive creativity and unusual life of a mostly neglected mid-19th century artist."

The World Festival of Animated Film - Animafest Zagreb was established in 1972 as the second oldest film festival in the world completely dedicated to animation. An ASIFA-recognized event, it is regarded as one of the Big Four world animation festivals, along with Annecy, Hiroshima and Ottawa. Launched thanks to the global reputation of the filmmakers sprung from the Zagreb School of Animation, until 2005 the festival was held biennially, and afterwards continued in the annual rhythm, devoting even years to short films and odd years to feature films. In its 25th edition (2015), Animafest Zagreb for the first time since its establishment mergeed the feature and short categories.
