Mizuho Nishikubo's new animated feature film, Giovanni's Island was greeted with the Official Jury's Special Mention in the Sweet Dreams competition for animated feature filma at the 13th annual International Film Festival "Nueva Mirada" for Children and Youth, held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from August 28 to September 3, 2014. The screening at Nueva Mirada marked the film's Latin American premiere. Argentina is the home country of Santiago Montiel, the general art director of the film.

The festival is a project carried out by the "Nueva Mirada" (New Approach) Association,
with the support of the National Institute of Film and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) and the Ministry of Foreign Relations, Ministry of Education, Secretary of Culture, Youth Direction of the Ministry of Social Development, Department of Culture and Tourism of the Government of the city of Buenos Aires and UNESCO among others. The Festival is a member of CIFEJ (International Centre of the Film for Children and Youth).
